Behavioral issues -reactivity

Also I will offer to take in a SELECT few Belgian malinois with behavioral or aggression issues to re train and either retrain, re-sell, or use personally for my kennel as I see fit. Some dogs will be spayed or nuetered some may not be. I only use dogs of quality for breeding.

I may offer a limited number of training spots 1 on 1 for people at their home for a fee also.  Most of this consists of figuring out the behavior and psychology of the dog not just "training" him, but figuring out why he is having issues, and what you can do about it to help the situation.

I'm getting a lot of people wanting to give me their belgian malinois that have put 0 time into them and left them home all day or crated them. This are working machines - tools, not tobe left sitting all day every day.

Please remember these dogs need to run miles a day or play for hours to be "fullfilled." So if you are not doing that it's likely that is part (or all) of the problem.

It seems people I've talked to have put no time  inot their dog, they work alot, they do not have time.

These dogs are working dogs, they need alot of time...if you cannot give that to them they will become destructive, loud, anxiety ridden, unsocilaized, and even reactive and dangerous more than is normal or prefered.

Please keep in mind its YOU that may need the work too, not just the dog.

80% of training dogs is training the people not the dogs!

Always rmemeber too YOU need to be the alpha...often I see aggressive dogs that are the alpha, thats the issue. You have not rissen to the top of the pack, therefore the dog has made its own decisions - without your leadership.

The belgian malinois needs you to be home often...not left alone for 9hrs plus a day. This may not end well. Either the dog is kenneled, in a small yard, or not being supervised-worse of all. The also are an in your pocket type of dog - they want to guard you 24-7 or be with you. I'd not reccomend this dog for you unless you are home alot, your spouse is, or you can take the dog to work with you sometimes.

The use of electric collars is a game changer. I use them on my farm for herding also. You can use a voice que and beep or vibrate to call the dog back or make it stop doing the unwanted beahavior. The bousnic collar is afforable - try it!

People leave their dog alone alot then they become destructive anxiious unsocialized. Please spend time with your dog if you want them to be better. Theres no quick fix, it takes years of commitment. Even 30 mins of training or a walk could do wonders. Dogs take alot of time...

Also you ned to be taking your dog away from home and socializeing them or they will be come often agressive or reactive in a bad way, when not desired. This does not make a good dog. Too much fear creates aggression. The dog needs to build confidence be around new people places and things, reactive or not! Use a muzzle with holes in it if you need to.  A condfident dog is a less reactive less fearful. A dog only bite out of fear or aggression. To protect something, or because he's afraid. Constant exposure and classicla conditioning is a way to solve this or make it better...it take a lot of time and repeating exposure to stimulus.
